The Artist: 

I have been a proud local Bribie Island artist for over 20 years, I am passionate about creating custom designs that reflect the vision and personality of each client. I enjoy the collaboration work with clients to design and create custom leadlight glass pieces, including windows, door features, indoor alcove and entrance spaces and other decorative glass artworks. I draw my creative inspiration from the beautiful ocean surroundings, sandy beaches, and sunny blue skies that I call home. I take plain, boring windows and transform them into Window’s with a View! I use traditional methods, inspired by the leadlight glass artisans of the past, combined with my love for the sea to design and create vibrant leadlight glass designs made entirely by hand. Add life and colour to any home or commercial space with unique, one of a kind, custom made leadlight glass art.

A leadlight glass artist is a skilled artisan who designs, creates, and restores works of art made from pieces of glass. This is a specialized and skilled craft. My artworks are hand designed, meticulously made with precision and attention to detail, they are unique and visually striking pieces.

Custom Artwork:  

I work with you to design and create one of a kind, custom made Leadlight Glass Artworks tailor made to suit your style, lighting, and privacy preferences.  

I work with a range of shapes and sizes, from port hole windows, skylights, to large front entrance feature pieces. I also design and create indoor features for lounge rooms, bathrooms, and hallways. Choose from transparent glass or opaque glass for privacy. There is also the option to add lighting to highlight the beautiful colours and textures of the leadlight art in places where you may not have much natural light. We will work together to find what will work best for you and create a stunning piece of artwork you will love.

Pelican Pete Window for Jim:

My stained glass Pelican Pete is now enjoying a new home. I have been so excited to create and make this huge 1.5m custom piece. This stained glass window depicting a beach scene with Pelican Pete standing on a post made with a textured, multicoloured glass creating a mesmerising display of shifting colours and patterns bringing the beach scene to life. At the bottom a serene sandy beach rendered in warm golden hues. The beach extends from left to right, meeting the calm, azure blue waters of the ocean into the horizon. The sky above the beach scene showcases a brilliant sun with shades of orange merging gracefully into the soft blues of the sky. Peacock Project for Clive & Cathy:

Design and make two Leadlight Glass panels for front door in a peacock design, using various blues and gold/yellow glass with pink flowers

Sunflower Window with stand and back lighting. Perfect present for a Sunflower lover.

Sunflowers: This was something I designed and made after a visit to the amazing Sunflower Festival in Kalbar. When I received an email from the new owner I was pleased to hear my sunflowers found their perfect home. See email below :

Hi Shirley,

I wanted to say how lucky I was to receive an amazing present from my mum and dad, that you hand made, the beautiful sunflowers arrangement. I just love it. It’s one of the most beautiful presents I have ever received, and when mum and dad gave it to me, they said ‘now you’ll have sunflowers forever’. It’s my favourite flower.

You are such an amazing artist and the craftsmanship in this piece is exquisite. I am so lucky to  own it and I will cherish it! I just wanted to let you know that it’s gone to a home that loves it!
